March is National Dummies Month to mark the publication of those bright yellow and black “For Dummies: A Reference for the Rest of Us!” guides intended to simplify various subjects. The library has a display of several titles ranging from “Gardening for Dummies to Facebook for Dummies.” Stop by and check out our display.

Story Time meets each Friday at 11:00 a.m. The program and craft activities are designed for pre-schoolers, but anyone who wants to hear a good story is welcome. Volunteer guest reader is Diane Moseley.

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Quitman Public Library invite others to get involved by joining members at noon on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 for an hour of friendship and library discussion. The FOL is an active group of volunteers dedicated to the growth and improvement of the library.
Genealogy
The society will meet on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. in the Shamburger Community room at the Quitman Public Library. Among the topics of interest is an introduction to using “Ancestry.com Library Edition.” This subscription is provided to our community by the Wood County TX Genealogical Society and through a generous donation from Uncle John’s Coffee House. Anyone is welcome to join society members for their “pre-meeting” social at one of the area’s local restaurants, and that information is always posted at their web blog: http://www.woodtxgene.com or Facebook page.
