July is National Air-Conditioning Appreciation Month.  One of the best ways to celebrate this event is to take a break at the Quitman Public Library where you can read the newspaper, enjoy a magazine, check your email, find a book on your favorite subject, or visit with friends. 
The 2nd Friday Acoustical Music Circle is always on the second Friday of the month at the Quitman Public Library.  The next acoustical jam is Friday, August 8, 6 - 9 p.m.  Acoustic musicians of all ages and musical levels are invited to join in, and listeners are always welcome.  Refreshments will be available. Patron cards are available for those residents who can provide proof of residence in Wood County and photo identification.  A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17.  Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Call 903-763-4191 for more information or visit our website at www.quitmanlibrary.org. Adult Services
English as a Second Language (ESL) will hold its last class of the summer on Thursday, July 31, 2014. The classes will reconvene this fall; the date will be announced in August.
Knitting and crochet instruction class meets each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. in the library’s main gallery. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to bring their own supplies and join the group for this free class.

Advisory Board
The Library Advisory Board will hold its next meeting on Thursday, September 11, 2014 at 6 p.m. The public is always welcome.

Young Adult and Children’s Services
Story Time Hours is this Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. Elizabeth Soutendijk and Jessica King have planned a fun hour of thematic stories, crafts, and entertainment. Story Time Hour is designed for young readers and home-schooled students; however anyone who wants to hear a great story is welcome.  For more information, call 903-763-BOOK (2665).

Genealogy
