On Tuesday, Dec. 13th at noon, the
Friends of the Library will host a Christmas gathering in the library’s Thurman
Shamburger Community Room. The Quitman Elementary Choir, led by Katrina Morrow,
will perform a medley of holiday songs. Light refreshments will be served, and
the public is invited.
Santa Claus is coming to the Quitman Public
Library at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 15, 2016. Come have your picture made with Santa! The
Friends of the Library will greet patrons with warm spiced cider and ginger
snaps in the lobby beginning Dec. 1st.
Check out our holiday collection of books for
pleasure reading, movies with a holiday theme, and books with recipe and
decorating ideas to make the holidays extra special. These displays are located
near the check-out desk.
The next 2nd Friday Acoustical
Music Circle is Friday, Dec.9, 2016 from 6 - 9 p.m. Acoustic musicians of all ages and musical
levels are invited to join in, and listeners are always welcome. Holiday treats

crochet instructor, Virginia Hoffpauir, invites everyone to bring his or her
own supplies and join her group for a fun time of free instruction. Stop by the library’s main gallery each

levels are welcome.
Get GED Ready@ Quitman Public Library each Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m. Class is taught by certified instructor, Susan
Resnik, and the holiday schedule runs concurrently with the QISD calendar. Stop by or call 903-763-4191.

Services
The Story Time Gang meets each Thursday at 2
p.m. Lillian Gray plans an educational
hour filled with stories, crafts and plenty of fun. The theme for Dec. 1st
is “All About Snow” and Dec. 8th is “All About Giving a Gift of
Love.” On Dec. 15th, Santa
Claus will arrive at exactly 2 p.m., so come have your picture made!
Story Time is designed for young readers and
home-schooled students; however anyone who wants to hear a great story is

Friends of the Library invites the public to
spend your lunch hour with them on Tuesday, Dec. 13th, 2016 at noon
