Quitman Library Connections by Delene Allen

to run January 4, 2017 Wood County Monitor – Quitman TX

On Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, several local authors from the Whyte Dove Writer’s Group will be showcasing their books in the library’s lobby beginning at 10 a.m.  At noon, Andy Skrzynski will present a short program sharing how he began as a writer and how you can get started. Light refreshments will be served, and the public is invited.
January is National “Get Organized” Month, and the Quitman Public Library has a media display filled with ideas to help you clear, or at least control, the clutter for the New Year.
The 2nd Friday Acoustical Music Circle is Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 from 6 - 9 p.m.  Acoustic musicians of all ages and musical levels are invited to join in, and listeners are always welcome. For more information, call Eugene Allen 903-975-5745.
If you are among the forty-five percent of Americans made a New Year’s resolution, it is likely that you made one of the top ten – to lose weight, eat more healthily, exercise more, stop smoking, stick to a budget, save money, get more organized, be more patient, find a better job and to just be a better person over all. Without a doubt, information on any of these topics and more can be found at the Quitman Public Library in the form of on-site print media and audiobooks, on OverDrive in e-book format, or online in the library’s TexShare Databases. Stop in and check it out.
Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.  Call 903-763-4191 or visit our website at www.quitmanlibrary.org. Keep up with current events on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/quitmanpubliclibrary.

Santa Visits the Quitman Public Library!

Santa visited today and brought joy to everyone! There was a craft table to make your own ornament, pictures were printed in Christmas cards donated by Sweet Expressions,

Ann Norris played the auto harp and entertained both parents and children. Cookies were provided by the Friends of the Library.

Thank you Lillian Gray for the arrangments and to the QPL staff and volunteers for helping create such a great Story Time Christmas Party!
