Quitman Public Library joins libraries across the country to remind parents that the most important school supply of all is a library card! Patron cards are available for those residents who can provide proof of residence in Wood County and photo identification.  A guardian must sign for children ages 5 - 17.


 

With school starting back, students will find invaluable and up-to-the-minute research tools and reference resources on our TexShare® database. Library patrons can connect by calling our front desk and visiting the library’s website at www.quitmanlibrary.org.

 

The public is invited to join the Wood County Metal Detecting Club on first Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the library’s Thurman Shamburger Community Room.

 

Knitting and crochet instruction class meets each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. at the library. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this growing group. Classes are free.

 

The Wood County TX Genealogical Society invites family researchers to meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in the library’s Shamburger Community Room. Visit their Facebook page to confirm the meeting schedule.

 

Board Games for Teens group meets every other Wednesday from 1 – 4 p.m. in the library’s community room. Bring board games and snacks to share. This group is organized by Homeschoolers – Wood County, Texas and is designed for teens ages 13 – 19. Call 903-763-4191 to confirm game days.

The library has over 30,000 books, but there’s even more to read if you like eBooks. Download the Libby® or Boundless® apps for the latest eBooks, audiobooks, and streaming video.
