Quitman Public Library Connections

February 11, 2015

The 2nd Friday Acoustical Music Circle is Friday, February 13, 2015, from 6 - 9 p.m. in the library’s community room.  Acoustic musicians of all ages and musical levels are invited to play, and listeners are always welcome.  Refreshments will be available. For more information, call 903-952-8305.
There will be no free Federal Income Tax assistance at the Quitman Public Library, and this is due to a shortage of AARP volunteers in Wood County.  The program is still offered at public libraries in Smith and Hopkins counties. Also, the IRS Tax Form Outlet Program has limited our printed tax forms, to Forms 1040 EZ, 1040 A, Publication 17, and Publication 4604  which guides filers to the website at www.irs.gov. Useful numbers are 1-800-829-1040 and 1-800-829-3676. Computers are available at the library for patrons to file online, and Wi-Fi is always available 24/7.
Stop in and save a forgotten book. Melissa Frosch is weeding through the library’s collection of over 30,000 books to pull items that have not circulated in the last few years.  She has created a display near the check-out area called “Forgotten Books” in order to give these books one last chance before going in the discard box.
Patron cards are for Wood County residents with photo identification.  A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17.  Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Call 903-763-4191 or visit our website at www.quitmanlibrary.org. Keep up with daily happenings on our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/quitmanpubliclibrary.
