Delene H. Allen
Wood County Democrat – Wood County, TX

More people than ever are seeking healthcare information on the Internet, however not all websites are trustworthy. To help people navigate the Web to find accurate health information, Quitman Public Library, ETMC-Quitman, and UT Southwestern Medical Center Library are hosting a Consumer Heath Information Workshop on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. to be held in the Thurman Shamburger Conference Room at the Quitman Public Library. John Fullinwider, Director of Research Support at UT Southwestern and Medical Librarian at Baylor Health Sciences Library, will lead this workshop. The public is invited to attend this interactive, hands-on workshop and learn how to find health information you can trust. For professionals needing Continuing Education Units (CEUs), this workshop will count for 3.
One can find a wealth of research materials and public information at the Quitman Public Library. Library cards are available for those residents who can provide proof of residence in Wood County and photo identification. A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17. Regular library hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

The Quitman Public Library Advisory Board will meet again Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. in the library’s main gallery. The public is always welcome to attend advisory board meetings.
