Quitman Library Connections by Delene Allen

Don’t miss a special Christmas Story Time this Wednesday, December 17, 2014.  Beginning at 2 p.m., Lillian Gray will be reading and acting out The Night Before Christmas, Pooh: The Sweetest Christmas, and Jingle Bells (a sing-a-long book). There will be a craft activity, and then a 45-minute movie will follow beginning at 3 p.m. with cocoa and cookies provided by Friends of the Library.
The Quitman Public Library is one of the city’s warmest gathering places during the holidays.  From now until Christmas, stop by and have a cup of warm spiced cider while you browse our nearly 30,000 items available for check out.  Near the front desk is a seasonal display filled with media pertaining to holiday decorating, entertaining, crafts, recipes, and Christmas movies for all ages.
In observance of the Christmas Holiday, the library will be closed Thursday, December 25 and Friday, December 26, 2014.  However, TexShare® Databases and OverDrive® services as well as Wi-Fi are always available 24/7.
Patron cards are for those who can provide proof of residence in Wood County with  photo identification.  A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17.  Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Call 903-763-4191 or visit our website at
