Summer Reading 2015 “Every Hero Has a Story” begins this month, and young readers are encouraged to stop by and register and pick up their reading game card at the Quitman Public Library. Each Wednesday in June, from 2 – 4 p.m., there will be an activity.
This Wednesday, June 3rd, professional storyteller, Elizabeth Ellis, will entertain young readers in the library’s community room.  Elizabeth has shared her stories throughout the United States and is a favorite at the National Storytelling Festival; Winner of Circle of Excellence and Tejas Storytelling Association awards. Popcorn and a super hero movie will follow at 3 p.m.
June is National Audiobook Month, and if you enjoy listening to the occasional audiobook, stop in and check something out.  We also have hundreds of titles available that are downloadable to your listening device using OverDrive®. The Quitman Public Library has nearly 30,000 books in regular print, large print, audio and electronic format, so stop in soon and check out what’s new.
2nd Friday Acoustical Music Jam is always on the second Friday of the month at the Quitman Public Library.  The next jam is Friday, June 12, 6 - 9 p.m.  Acoustic musicians of all ages and musical levels are invited to join in, and listeners are always welcome.  Refreshments are available.
