Come in from the summer heat, relax and enjoy the Quitman Public Library. With over 30,000 books, movies, audio books, magazines, newspapers and eBooks, there is something for everyone. What makes great summer reading? It’s different for everyone, but mostly a “good read” follows these criteria: nostalgia-inducing, a little humor and romance, and a relaxing easy to follow storyline. Stop by and check it out!
The Quitman Public Library is a host site for the East Texas Food Bank “Summer Meals for Kids” program, for children 18 and younger, each Tuesday and Thursday at 11:30 a.m. through July 16th.  The library is located at 202 East Goode St Quitman, TX. 
Money Camp for Children ages 5 - 13 years old is in its final week and will meet this Thursday, July 16, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until noon, Martha Scroggins and Rebecca L. Crump are the camp leaders, and the remaining topic is  “Ready, Set, Goal!”  
Patron cards are for Wood County residents with photo identification.  A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17.  Hours are Tuesday – Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.  Visit our website at www.quitmanlibrary.org. Adult Services
GED® or General Educational Development preparatory class is on break at the Quitman Public Library, but it will be resuming this fall.  Contact Peggy Lustig at 903-589-6900 for class information.
Free knitting and crochet instruction is offered each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. in the library’s main gallery. Students of all ages and skill levels may bring their own supplies and join the group. This Thursday, July 16th,  Carla Clark and Pam Crump with be instructing the class.

Children’s Services
Story Time now meets on Thursdays 2 – 3 p.m.  Join us Thursday, July 16th at 2 p.m. and enjoy an hour of stories and activities presented by Elizabeth Soutendijk, Angie de la Rosa and Lillian Gray. This week’s theme: Love.

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Library will reconvene in September 2015. If you would like to join this active group of volunteers dedicated to the growth and improvement of the library, please contact FOL President, Teresa Meeks at tameeks@etmc.org.
