Wednesday, June 6, 2018 Wood County Monitor – Quitman TX

The 2018 Summer Reading theme at the Quitman Public Library during the entire month of June is “Libraries Rock!” On Thursday, June 7 at 2 p.m. we will be rocking the house here at the library with ventriloquist and magician, Howdy Do-Dat, then on Thursday, June 14 at 2 p.m. we will have a 50s Sock Hop with Dale “The C” Cummings.  Exciting musical events are planned for each Thursday in June, and there will be lots of prizes and surprises. Pick up your game card and check out some of our brand new books selected especially for our youngest readers!
The 2nd Friday Acoustical Jam is Friday, June 8 from 6 – 9 p.m. Special guests are planning to attend from deep East Texas as well as Central Texas, so this will be a great time to network! Acoustical instruments only and listeners are always welcome. Beans and cornbread served at 7 p.m. This is a free event.

Displayed near the front check out desk is a collection of summer reads selected by Melissa Frosch. Stop by and check it out!
