Wood County Democrat – Quitman TX
September 30, 2015
Celebrate National Chewing Gum Day on September 30th
at the Quitman Public Library. Stop in and check out what your library has to
offer, and grab a piece of gum. Humans have been chewing gum for over 5,000
years according to archaeologists who have discovered pieces of bark tar with
tooth imprints. In 1869, someone thought to patent chewing gum, and the rest is
history.
