QPL Story Time meets each Wednesday at 2 p.m. Terri Bennett plans an educational hour
filled with stories, crafts and plenty of fun. The Story Times for Jan. 2020
will be about “Show and Tell,” so bring something awesome to share! The program
is designed for young readers and home-schooled students. Call 903-763-BOOK

year’s crafts and activities.
The 2nd Friday
Acoustic Jam is Friday, Feb. 14, 2020 from 6 – 9 p.m. in the library’s
Shamburger Community Room. It will be a special night dedicated to romantic
music and love songs with treats provided by the Friends of the Library. Musicians
of all ages and musical levels are invited to join in with acoustical
instruments only. Beginners are welcome to come early to workshop at 5 p.m. Listeners

Friends
of the Quitman Public Library invites everyone to its next meeting on Tuesday, Feb.
11, 2020 at noon in the Shamburger Community Room. Special guest will be local
author and columnist, John Moore, who will discuss his writing. Friends is an active group of volunteers
dedicated to the growth and improvement of the library.
Wood
County TX Genealogical Society meets at 7 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020. The
group meets at one of the local restaurants for fellowship prior to the
meeting, and anyone is welcome to attend. Contact David Gilbreath at 972-977-7988 for

Rebekah Yeager and Virginia Hoffpauir invite students of all ages and skill levels
to bring their own supplies and join the Quitman Knitter’s Group for free
instruction each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. in the library’s front lobby area.
Adult GED support services are available
for students who have registered online at www.ged.com. Assistance in
reading/writing skills and math is available in the public computer area on
Tuesdays and Fridays during library hours.
In the lobby showcase during the month of
January is a display titled "Examine Nature with Amy Yeager." Amy
shares her detailed illustrations of fish, insects, and birds. Visit her

Patron cards are available for those who
provide photo identification and proof of residence in Wood County. A guardian
must sign for children ages 5 – 17. Hours
