Library Notes to run June 22, 2011

This week includes the first day of summer, and the Quitman Public Library is one of the coolest spots in the city to take a break. Stop by the library and read the newspaper, enjoy a magazine, check your email, find a book on your favorite subject, or visit with friends. A display of media filled with light summer reading and ideas for summer travel, picnics, sports, and family activities is located near the front check-out area.
Mark your calendars for Friday, July 1st for the Summer Reading Kick-off Party at the library. This summer’s reading program is “Dig up a Good Book @ the Quitman Public Library.” Sign-up ends June 30th, and the program runs through July 29th, 2011. Contributors and sponsors for summer reading include: Lowe Funeral Home, James and Meloney Sustaire, J&J Wrecker Service, Heritage Nursing Home, G&S Sales, Precision Hardware, Terri’s Nail Salon, Wood County Automatic Gas Company, City National Bank, Bulldog Computers, Quitman Realty, Reneau or Thelma Anders, Hidden Treasure Quick Lube, Ray Roberts Service Co., Tumble Time, Scroggins & Associates, Wood County National Bank, Paddy’s Autoworks, Peoples Telephone, Nasco, Hatfield Cleaners, Bank Texas, and Friends of the Quitman Public Library.
Library cards are available for those residents who can provide proof of residence in Wood County and photo identification. A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17. Regular library hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. For more information about the library, visit www.quitmanlibrary.org or call 903-763-4191.
