Morgan, internationally-recognized genealogy expert, author, and lecturer and Drew Smith, MLS, instructor at the School of Library and Information Science at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Event: Northeast Texas Library System - Regional Advisory Council Meeting

Desc: The Northeast Texas Library System Advisory Council consists of seven representatives who represent the interests and needs of all the member libraries in the System. The NETLS Advisory Council serves as the liaison agency of the member libraries, their governing bodies and their Library Boards or Trustees to advise in the formulation of the Annual and Long Range Plans of Service and budgets. The Council chooses to meet at the Quitman Public Library because of the meeting room accommodations and because of the city’s centralized location within the region.

Desc: To help people navigate the Web to find accurate, trustworthy health information, Quitman Public Library and UT Southwestern Medical Center Library are hosting a Consumer Heath Information Workshop led by John Fullinwider, director of research support and education services for the library at UT Southwestern. The session is sponsored in part by the National Network of Libraries of Medicine/South Central Region.
