To run: 5 Dec 2012
Wood County Democrat – Wood County, TX
As part of the “Meet the Author” series, the Quitman Public Library invites the community to stop by and meet Jerry Yost, author of “The Great Arctic Adventure: An Elf’s Christmas Tale,” on Tuesday, December 11th from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.  Jerry Yost retired from the Texas House of Representatives in 1997 and his experience as a corporate lobbyist earned him a Chair in the Texas Law Library at the University of Texas. He is now writing fiction for his grandchildren.
The library is now offering access to NewspaperARCHIVE.com -- the world's largest online newspaper database featuring over 120 million newspaper pages!  No matter if you are looking for historical data for a novel you are penning or if you want to explore the genealogy of your family, NewspaperARCHIVE.com will connect those in need to hundreds of years of community news, family history, world news, national news and more. Stop in to learn more about access to this valuable database!
During the month of December, the library will welcome patrons with warm spiced cider and ginger snaps in the front lobby.  This is sponsored through the generosity of the Friends.
We welcome the Christmas and New Year holidays with a display of media to help with holiday decorating, gift-making, and recipes.  This display is located near the check-out area.  Regular hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.  Call 903-763-4191 for more information or visit our website at www.quitmanlibrary.org

The public is always welcome to attend advisory board meetings.
