  During March, the Quitman Public Library is highlighting Women’s History Month with displays throughout the library. Stop by soon and it check out.
  On Thursday, March 15 from 1 – 3 p.m., author Nancy Falster will meet the public and autograph copies of her children’s book, “Stuart Finds a Home.” She will also read the story aloud during Story Time at 2 p.m.
  Northeast Texas Health will present a free diabetes workshop from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 17 at the library. Contact Paula Thomas at 903-571-3469 for more information.
  If you have not filed your IRS return, there is still time. The library has the forms you need and computers are available during business hours. Wi-Fi is available 24/7.

Adult Services
  GED preparatory class meets each Thursday from 4 – 6 p.m.  Students are guided according to an individually designed study plan using the Steck-Vaughn method. Sign up at the library’s front desk, or call for more information. 
  Knitting and crochet instruction class meets each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. in the library’s main gallery. Students of all ages and skill levels may bring their own supplies and join the group for this free class.

Children’s Services
  QPL Story Time is each Thursday at 2 p.m. It is designed for young readers and home-schooled students; however anyone who wants to hear a great story is welcome. Upcoming themes: March. 15 “Stuart Finds a Home” read by the author, Nancy Falster – March 22 “What Can You Build?” – March 29 “What is a Dream Catcher?”

Friends of the Library
  The Friends invite everyone to bring a lunch and join them at noon on Tuesday, April 10, for an hour of friendship. Lillian Gray will present “April: Child Abuse Awareness Month.” Friends of the Quitman Public Library is an active group of volunteers dedicated to the growth and improvement of the library.

Genealogy
  The Wood County TX Genealogical Society will meet on Monday, March 17, at 7 p.m. in the library’s Shamburger Community Room. Special guest Eugene Allen will present “Ambrose Fitzgerald: Early Settler in Wood County TX.” Visit the group’s Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/groups/woocotx.
