Summer Reading 2026 “Unearth a Story” programming, designed for ages PreK – 10yrs, is happening this month at the Quitman Public Library. It’s not too late to pick up your play card​ to earn prizes from Sonic - Quitman and free swim passes sponsored by Quitman-Lake Fork Kiwanis. Entertainment programs scheduled: June 10th “Jurassic Magic!” with Mike Corry, Master Magician; June 17th “Make Japanese Origami!” Japanese Origami Artist, Jojo Cain, will show us how to fold an array of dinosaurs; June 24th “Dinosaur Movie Time!” with free popcorn, candy and drinks; June 26th “Jon McDermott Concert and Prize Awards!” Jon will stop by on his tour for a special performance just for us. His tour is sponsored by the Texas Commission on the Arts.



Tutoring is available each Wednesday at 4 p.m. Whether you are studying for a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, or just brushing up on your math skills, it is easier when you have a professional tutor who can guide you through the process. QPL Knitting & Crochet Class regularly meets each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. at the library. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this growing group.
