Roofing has completed our roof and Ray Robert’s Service has installed all
of our new HVAC units. The roof was over 20 years old, and some of the units
were original to the building, so a change was in order. We can already tell
the difference in efficiency.
For the next few months, you will see a new face around the
library on Thursdays. Owen Neace is a bilingual instructor
from Yantis, with a degree from the University of Missouri, and he will be
working with the Gateway to Libraries
project that provides Bilingual Family Literacy and English as a Second
Language (ESL) classes here at the Quitman Public Library.
So many patrons have stopped by or called to get online with OverDrive® -- our newest way to offer
you the latest eBooks! If you have a library card you can check out up to 5 of
the newest eBooks for 1 or 2 weeks to read on your computer, download to your
smart phone, and download to your reading device such as the Nook® or Kindle®. We still need libraries, but I have to admit that this is
pretty cool!
Calendar:
- 2nd Friday Acoustical Bluegrass Jam on Friday, February 14th 6-9p.m.
