  During July, the Quitman Public Library will host Summer Lunch for Kids every Tuesday – Friday at noon. This is a no-cost program sponsored by Quitman & Liberty Methodist Men to ensure that kids in our community do not go hungry during the summer months. 

  Also, Money Camp for children ages 5 – 11 years is each Tuesday and Thursday in July from 10 a.m. – noon at the library. This fun camp is sponsored by City National Bank, Wood County National Bank and Capital One as part of a regional literacy initiative of A Circle of 10, Inc. Call 903-763-4191 for more information about either of these free programs. 

  Displayed near the front check out desk is a collection of the best summer reads selected by Melissa Frosch. Stop by and check it out.
  The 2nd Friday Acoustical Jam is Friday, July 13 from 6 – 9 p.m. Acoustical instruments only and listeners are always welcome. Beans and cornbread served at 7 p.m. This is a free event. Contact Eugene Allen at 903-975-5745.

  Visit the library’s online catalog at http://quitman.biblionix.com/catalog to see all the latest books, audiobooks, and DVDs ready to be checked out. Sign up for email or text notifications to remind you when your books are due. 
  Patron cards are for Wood County residents with photo identification. A guardian must sign for children ages 5-17.

Adult Services
  Jim Kinsel from Workforce Solutions of East Texas will be at the library on Friday, July 5 from 10 a.m. – 1 p.m. to assist job seekers. No appointment is necessary.
  Rebekah Yeager and Virginia Hoffpauir invite you to free crochet and knitting instruction each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. in the library’s main lobby. All ages and skill levels are welcome.
  Online GED test preparatory registration and course assistance is available on Thursdays (language arts) and Fridays (mathematics) from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
  Notary service is available at the library during regular business hours, but to guarantee an appointment, call 903-763-4191.

Children’s Services
  QPL Story Time is on break until September 25, 2019. Special thanks to Peoples Telephone for sponsoring QPL Story Time crafts and activities.

Friends of the Library
  Friends of the Quitman Public Library will reconvene in September after a summer break.
  Friends of the Quitman Public Library is an active group of volunteers dedicated to the growth and improvement of the library. Membership applications are available at the library’s front desk
