  This week is the FOL Fall Book Sale to be held through Friday, Nov. 4, 2022 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Stop by and make a deal.

  The next meeting of the Friends of the Quitman Public Library will be Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022 at noon in the library’s Thurman Shamburger Community Room.

  During November, the library is celebrating several events and highlighting each with displays of books, movies, audiobooks, and eBooks. Near the checkout area is a display of books arranged by the QPL Staff to highlight National Native American Heritage Month. It's also a time to recognize and appreciate service members recognizing Veterans and Military Family Month.

The Wood County TX Genealogical Society invites family researchers, historians, and storytellers, to join them and work together on your genealogical tree. The society will meet on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022 at 7 p.m. at the library. Photographers of all levels are invited to the “In-Focus Photography Club of East Texas” that now meets every 4th Monday in the library’s community room. The next meeting is Monday, Nov. 28, 2022. Meet other photographers, share ideas, and participate in photography-related contests and events. Social hour begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by the 6:30 p.m. meeting and workshop. 

  Knitting and crochet instruction class meets each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. in the lobby. Students of all ages and skill levels may bring their own supplies and join the group for free instruction.

  Adult GED support services are available for students who have registered online at www.ged.com. Certified instructors are available in the computer area at the library on Wednesdays to assist with reading/writing skills and math.

  Download the Libby® app to connect to our library’s vast collection of eBooks, audio books and streaming video. Also, the online TexShare® database is loaded with invaluable and up-to-the-minute research tools and reference resources.
