Earning a General Educational Development (GED) certificate is easier to navigate when you have a tutor available to guide you through the process.  A professionally trained tutor who specializes in math and essay writing is available at the library each Wednesday, 4 - 6 p.m.. QPL Knitting & Crochet Class regularly meets each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. at the library. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this growing group. Classes are free.

 

Whyte Dove Writers Group meets on the 2^nd Monday of each month at the library. You are welcome to join this group of regional authors, editors, and aspiring writers who meet to discuss, review and share techniques. This workshop is open to the public.

 

The next meeting of the Friends of the Library will be Thursday, May 14, 2026, at noon. The Friends now meet quarterly in the library’s community room on the 2nd Thursday of February, May, September, and December.

 

Wood County Metal Detector Club, led by Jerry Tinney, meets on 1st Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Quitman Public Library. The public is invited.

 

Notary service is available at the library during regular business hours. Walk-ins are welcome, but to guarantee an appointment, call the library’s front desk at 903-763-4191.
