The Friends of the Library Spring Book Sale ends Friday, May 1 at 4 p.m. in the Shamburger Community Room. Stop in and make an offer, because there is a good chance that it will be accepted.
On Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the library’s community room, UT Health will present free information about its new outpatient program for mental health called Senior Life Solutions. The program is geared for those aged 65 and over who may be struggling with depression, anxiety, loss of a spouse or other major life changes.
The Wood County TX Genealogical Society invites family
researchers and historians to meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m.
in the library’s Shamburger Community Room. The next meeting is May 18, 2026.
Earning a General Educational Development (GED) certificate
is easier when you have a professional tutor who can guide you through the

QPL Knitting & Crochet Class regularly meets each Thursday 2 – 4 p.m. at the library. Students of all ages and skill levels are invited to join this growing group.
Wood County Metal Detector Club, led by Jerry Tinney, meets
on 1st Mondays of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Shamburger Community Room.
