The Friends of the QPL Fabulous Fiction Book Sale is Sept. 1 – 4 starting at 10 a.m. each morning. Many of these fiction books are new and one-of-a-kind. Proceeds benefit the library’s summer reading program.


On Tuesday, Sep. 1, beginning at 10 a.m., the public is invited to visit with representatives from Senior Life Solutions in the lobby of the Quitman Public Library. Senior Life Solutions offers flexible mental health treatment for older adults who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or just trouble coping with life in general. Tutoring is available each Wednesday at 4 p.m. Whether you are studying for a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, or just brushing up on your math skills, it is easier when you have a professional tutor who can guide you through the process. The QPL Knitting & Crochet Club meets each Thursday from 2 – 4 p.m. Students of all ages and skill levels may bring their own supplies and enjoy free instruction.

Wood County Metal Detector Club regularly meets on first Mondays at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s Shamburger Community Room.

Whyte Dove Writers’ Club meets monthly on second Tuesdays from 6 – 8:30 p.m. at the library. Consider joining this distinctive group of local published authors.
